Nearly 600 spinning mills, affiliated to South India Spinners Association (SISPA) stopped yarn production starting today to liquidate huge stocks piled up for the last three months. 

"The mills have stopped production in the first stage for 10 days to save the textile industry, which is going through a severe crisis, due to mismatching policy. The Government should intervene immediately to revive and save it," SISPA president S V Devarajan said here.
